What is This Repository?

This repository is a personal knowledge base and a collection of "digital archeology" projects. It serves as the canonical source of truth for my complex server setups, home lab configurations, and software deployments.

The core problem this repository solves is the "fog of war" that often follows a successful but chaotic setup. We've all been there: a dozen browser tabs open with guides, a messy shell history, cryptic notes, and a final, working system... but no clear, single document explaining how we got there.

This repository is the answer to that problem.

The Process: Abductive Inference Reconstruction

The documentation within this repo is not written by hand from memory. It is generated through a process I call Abductive Inference Reconstruction, using Large Language Models (LLMs).

Abductive Inference is a form of logical reasoning that starts with an observation and seeks to find the simplest and most likely explanation.

In this context, the process is:

  1. Gather the Artifacts (The "Observation"): After a project is complete, I collect all the disparate, context-poor digital artifacts related to the setup. This includes:

    • bash_history or zsh_history from servers and containers.
    • Final configuration files (e.g., /etc/pve/lxc/104.conf, docker-compose.yml).
    • The text of external guides and tutorials I followed.
    • My own messy, incomplete notes.
  2. Form the Intercontextual Chain (The "Reconstruction"): I provide all of these artifacts to an LLM with a clear directive: "Figure out what I did, synthesize these sources, and reconstruct a coherent, step-by-step guide that explains the entire process from start to finish."

  3. Generate the Documentation (The "Explanation"): The LLM acts as a reasoning engine, forming an intercontextual chain that links my actions (from shell history) to the instructions (from guides) and the final state (from config files). It refines this chaotic input into the clean, structured, and easy-to-follow documentation found here.

The result is a set of documents that is more accurate than memory and more complete than any single source I started with.
